Quick answer
What does HEIC To Size do?
HEIC To Size creates a JPEG or PNG from one HEIC or HEIF photo at or below a target size you choose. The file is decoded and compressed in this browser, without an upload.
| Input | One HEIC / HEIF photo |
|---|---|
| Output | JPEG or PNG |
| Target range | 5–5000 KB; compressed output stays at or below the target |
| Processing | In this browser via WebAssembly; no image upload |
To meet a smaller target, JPEG quality is reduced only to a floor; if that is not enough, the tool reduces pixel dimensions. PNG uses lossless encoding at the resulting size, but may also reduce pixel dimensions. No compressor can guarantee a much smaller file without changing image data or resolution.
